What We Believe
We believe in the Full Gospel. The Good News is that Jesus Christ is our:
1. Savior, In salvation, Jesus saves us from the penalty of sin.
Matthew 1:21, (The Angel said to Joseph) “And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Acts 16:31, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.”
As our Savior, Jesus has saved us in every way a person can be saved.
Luke 4:18-19, 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”
2. Sanctifier, Jesus not only delivers us from the penalty of sin but also from the power of sin. He does this by providing us power over temptation.
Galatians 5:16, 22-24, 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh… 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
3. Spirit Baptizer, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit in order to provide us with power to be His witnesses.
Luke 3, (John the Baptist said of Jesus) 16… “I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Acts 1:8, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 2:1-4, 1 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
4. Healer, As our Healer, Jesus reveals that His salvation is not just future tense, but also here-and-now. Jesus longs to see us restored—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Isaiah 53:5, “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
5. Soon-coming King, Jesus came to save us in every way that a person can be saved. And, He is coming again that we can be with Him where He is.
John 14:1-6, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
